CHIJ STC House System – Objectives

• To promote and foster the Theresian Spirit by nurturing identity, pride, and camaraderie through vibrant House activities that bring students together as one community.

• To provide opportunities for mass participation in innovative and meaningful sporting and cultural experiences, developing students’ confidence, teamwork, and resilience.

• To promote and inculcate the Olympic Values—Excellence, Friendship, and Respect—across all House activities, while encouraging fair play and sportsmanship.

• To strengthen 21st Century Competencies (21CC) such as teamwork, communication, creativity, global awareness, and social-emotional well-being through authentic and engaging House experiences.

HOUSE LEADERS COMMITTEE

The House Leaders serve as role models who inspire all Theresians to embrace a healthy and active lifestyle. Guided by their teachers, these leaders take ownership in planning and executing key school events such as House Spirit Day, International Friendship Day, Cross Country, Inter-House games and a wide range of sporting and wellness activities. Through their creativity, teamwork, and commitment, they not only foster school spirit and camaraderie but also create meaningful opportunities for every student to experience the joy of sports and active living. Together, they embody the spirit of “6 Houses, One Theresian Community”—united in purpose yet celebrating the unique strengths of each House.

House committee- Roles and Responsibilities

•  Work closely with House Teachers in the planning, preparation, and execution of vibrant House activities that promote identity, pride, and camaraderie across the Theresian community.

• Lead the promotion of the Theresian Spirit by fostering a strong sense of belonging within the House and uniting students through meaningful traditions, cheers, and House-wide initiatives.

• Provide opportunities for mass participation by designing inclusive, innovative sporting and cultural activities that build students’ confidence, teamwork, and resilience.

• Champion the Olympic Values—Excellence, Friendship, and Respect—by modelling sportsmanship, fair play, and positive behaviour during all House and school-wide events.

• Lead the school community in cheers and morale-building efforts, uplifting school spirit during key events such as Sports Day, competitions, assemblies, and celebrations.

• Promote the development of 21st Century Competencies (21CC) such as collaboration, communication, creativity, and global awareness through well-designed House initiatives.

• Support student well-being by creating House activities that encourage positive peer relationships, social-emotional learning, and a caring, inclusive environment.
